Robotic root, concrete, scale & intrusion removal
Root cutting
Skid mounted rotating water-jetting heads winched through the sewer or pipeline. and chain flails are used to remove tap roots and mass roots depending on their type and extent. Alternatively, water jets, set at a pre-determined angle, at pressures of up to 10,000psi are aimed at pipes internal surface and slices through nearly any root, effectively removing it.
Water pressure is carefully controlled to ensure that the minimum effective pressure is used at all times to prevent damage to the pipe. The cutting process is monitored using our CCTV systems to ensure that the process is properly completed.
These very specialist no-dig techniques are particularly suited to Airport situations where conventional excavation and repair is not possible or too disruptive within a industry where maintaining service is paramount.
Concrete cutting
Waterflow have, over the years, perfected the best ways of removing the heavy scale and cement deposits that can sometimes be found in pipes and sewers. We have found that water at very high pressure is the most effective cutting tool for these kinds of jobs and using spinning water jets and high pressure water we are able to cut out roots that have grown into and clogged pipes. These techniques, used in conjunction with our CCTV survey service are extremely efficient and also provide a very useful 'no- dig' method of sewer maintenance.
Some of the typical cleaning applications for 'Very High Pressure Jetting':
- Removal of cement type material from pipes, drains and sewers
- High pressure cleaning of concrete surfaces using a hand held high pressure lance
- High pressure cleaning of steel structures
- Removal of graffiti or paint from both concrete and steel structure
- Cleaning of roadway and runway surfaces, removing rubber, oil, grease and debris
- Blasting pump chamber surfaces to remove grease and heavy deposits
- Tunnel and culvert surface structure cleaning
Intrusion cutting
Waterflow have, over the years, perfected the several effective ways of removing intrusions that can sometimes be found in pipes and sewers. Using remote controlled air or water powered cutters we are able to accurately cut and remove intruding lateral connections, fence posts, tap roots or other unwanted intrusions that can cause problems with the operation of the drain or sewer. These techniques, used in conjunction with our CCTV survey service are extremely efficient and also provide a very useful 'no-dig' method of sewer maintenance.
These very specialist 'no-dig' techniques are particularly suited to Airport situations where conventional excavation and repair is not possible or too disruptive within a industry where maintaining service is paramount.
