Under runway crossings
Directional drilling
Waterflow provide a range of directional drilling services from HGV mounted units to catchpit based systems.
The primary drivers for system selection are site access - physical and time aspects. The techniques are well established and our experience ranges from straightforward easy access crossing to complex deep drilling operations in city centres.
Our UV Cured GRP structural cured in place pipes are now frequently used as the pipe within the drive casings, due to their ease of installation and long term maintenance benefits.
These very specialist no dig techniques are particularly suited to Airport situations where conventional excavation and repair is not possible or too disruptive within a industry where maintaining service is paramount.
Pipe reaming
Where pipes are displaced or partially collapsed pipe reaming can be an effective no-dig solution for repair. Waterflow Plc provide a range of pipe reaming systems from miniaturised catch-pit / manhole based systems to HGV mounted units.
The operation is conducted with a directional drilling machine and a reamer that grinds and pulverises the existing pipe. The excess peripheral material is flushed and removed with the drilling fluids and the HDPE pipe of the required size pulled into place simultaneously.
This method avoids the ground heave and risk to other infrastructure associated with pipe bursting, making it a very effective technique in areas with significant services and structures above or near to the pipe being rehabilitated.
No-Dig pipe rehabiliation
UV Cured GRP Pipe Lining
The Waterflow Group has always been a company at the forefront of cured in place pipe for the repair and renovation of broken and defective drains and sewers. Recent developments in technology have produced a new and innovative method for cured in place pipe lining, the process is faster and the materials are stronger than standard CIPP.
The process involves the use of UV light to cure the resin impregnated liner that is held in position by air pressure, rather than by water, during the very fast curing process.
This new pipe rehabilitation process offers significant advantages relating to quality, efficiency and environmental impact, these can be identified as:
- Bespoke design for specific structural requirements of each job
- Pre curing inspection by CCTV ensuring a high quality finish on every installation
- Cure time of 1 metre per minute can be achieved
- Lining can be undertaken during short night shifts
- Self contained and highly portable enables linings to be installed in difficult and remote sites.
- Negligible styrene emissions.
- Minimal flow control required due to the speed of installation.
- Significantly exceeds all current material standards for strength and longevity.
- WRc APPROVED
Our in house capabilities are extensive and this, combined with our innovative pipe and sewer rehabilitation techniques, enable us to tackle any aspect of drain or sewer maintenance, repair or renovation
