Interceptor, Cesspit & Grease Trap Maintenance
Health & Education establishments & campuses
Waterflow provide a comprehensive cleaning and repair service to maintain oil and petrol interceptors, cesspits and grease traps for hospitals, clinics, schools, colleges and universities.
Waterflow's experience, training and specialist equipment mean we will address drain problems with consideration to the nature of the activities at the location.
Septic tank and cesspit cleaning
Septic tank and cesspit cleaning is a routine operation for Waterflow. Septic tanks normally require infrequent emptying, but it is important to know the rate at which cesspits fill to avoid unpleasant consequences. Waterflow can provide a managed or reactive service to fit your estates management approach.
Surface water interceptor maintenance
Surface water interceptors normally service vehicle parking and delivery areas, effectively preventing hydrocarbons from discharging to the surface water drainage system outfall. Depending on the nature and frequency of usage of your vehicle areas, interceptors need to be periodically emptied and cleaned, otherwise the pollutants will migrate through the chambers to the outfalls. Waterflow can work with you to maintain these systems and establish the appropriate cleaning frequency.
Grease trap maintenance
Kitchen waste, particularly fat and grease must not be allowed to discharge to foul drains or they can cause blockages and pollution for which you would be liable. Current building regulations (Part H) require grease traps to be installed in kitchens to prevent this. As with any interceptor system, they require periodic maintenance - either by hand or vacuum tanker depending on the size of the trap. If you have a significant volume of a pure fat (single source) it may have value and we would be pleased to discuss the potential for a collection and removal service with you.
External chambers are normally emptied by vacuum tankers, and internal traps, by hand. We always follow best practice and leave the system clean, safe and fully functional - even if this requires an additional resource such as a high pressure water jetting.
