Waterflow has dedicated vegetation management teams delivering cost effective vegetation management services to infrastructure asset owners such as LUL, Network Rail and TFL. Vegetation management services were originally developed by Waterflow to enable the effective delivery of our other services especially in the more rural environments.
Using the most effective plant and applying asset management principals, Waterflow have delivered customers significant cost savings and operational improvements.
Clearing vegetation on the rail infrastructure in tight time scales and physical space constraints demands high productivity, manoeuvrability and safety. We invest in training, equipment and technology to deliver productivity, cost, safety and environmental benefits.
Scope & resources
Key aspects of our vegetation management works include:
- Ensuring clear signal sight-lines
- Removing unwanted weeds/vegetation from sidings / walking routes
- Managing vegetation to minimise Autumn mitigation works
- Removal of vegetation in proximity of OHLE
- Tree surgery to minimise risk and environmental impact
- Disposal of cuttings with minimal environmental impact
- 'Flail Strip' services for high speed clearance of hard to reach areas
- Control of noxious weeds such as Japanese Knotweed and Giant Hogweed to prevent spread on and off the infrastructure.
