Inspection & Mapping Of Lateral Drainage Connections

Waterflow's satellite camera is operated remotely and can be used to inspect lateral drainage connections up to 30m in length.

In the future it is likely that liability for private sewers will transfer from property owners to the major water companies operating as water and sewerage undertakers.

One challenge that faces water companies in the event of such a change in legistation is the mapping and condition assement of this major underground asset.

Gaining access to carry out a CCTV survey of private drainage serving a property can be difficult, The Waterflow LISY (Lateral Inspection System) camera can solve this problem as it operates from within the public sewer.

The LISY 150 comprises of a mainline CCTV survey systemmounted on a self propelled tractor that also houses a smaller "piggyback" satellite camera.

This satellite camera is launched from the main tractor using a fibreglass rod and can be pushed inside the lateral connection. The smaller camera has pan tilt and zoom facilities enabling a thorough inspection of the condition of any lateral connection.

Because this camera is fitted with "sond" the position of the camera can also be detected above ground, greatly assisting any sewer mapping operations.
