Drain & sewer reinforcement
Alternatives
Waterflow Plc have extensive experience in the reinforcement of sewers and drains. Usually reinforcement is required to facilitate other works such as tunnelling below or construction above.
The techniques adopted tend to be one of or a combination of the following:
- Installation of a structural liner within existing pipe
- Panel lining system
- Structural grouting
- Horizontal piling
Waterflow's specialist drainage and civil engineering knowledge enables us to provide a single source for the design, development and installation of these solutions.
Structural Liners
Waterflow's WRC approved UV Cured GRP Liners satisfy the requirements of UK - BS EN 13566, however the liners are designed using a finite element analysis programme based on the German Standard ATV-DVWK-M127_2e.
The German standard enables shallow pipe design and modelling of multiple dynamic and static loads in rail, road, water, airport and construction scenarios. Each liner is therefore custom designed and manufactured for specific projects enabling customisation of the glass reinforcement and resin to suit the reinforcement requirements.
Panel Lining
Waterflow have implemented numerous panel lining solutions, particularly for larger diameter pipes (> 1200mm).
Typically panel systems involve sectional insptallation of panels and grouting of the anulus between the panels and the pipe walls.
Recent innovations enable Waterflow to use see through panels, enabling monitoring of grout installation and subsequent monitoring of the pipe integrity.
