UV cured GRP drain & sewer lining
The Waterflow Group has always at the forefront of cured in place pipe (CIPP) for the repair and renovation of broken and defective drains and sewers. Recent developments in technology have produced a new and innovative method for cured in place pipe lining, the process is faster and the materials are stronger than standard CIPP.
The process involves the use of UV light to cure the resin impregnated liner that is held in position by air pressure, rather than by water, during the very fast curing process.
This new pipe rehabilitation process offers significant advantages relating to quality, efficiency and environmental impact, these can be identified as:
- Pre curing inspection by CCTV ensuring a high quality finish on every installation
- Cure time of 1 metre per minute can be achieved
- Lining can be undertaken during short night shifts
- Self-contained and highly portable enables linings to be installed in difficult and remote sites.
- Negligible styrene emissions.
- Minimal flow control required due to the speed of installation.
- Significantly exceeds all current material standards for strength and longevity.
- WRc APPROVED
Key features of the liners include:
- Factory impregnated and manufactured in accordance with BS EN ISO 9000 standards, the materials have been developed using technology employed in the aerospace industries. The materials and finished products have been rigorously tested and conforms to the requirements of BS EN 13566.
- Installations can be undertaken in pipe sizes from 150mm to 1200mm diameter. The liners can be manufactured to be installed in a variety of sewer shapes including egg and other non circular profiles. Variations in the diameter of a sewer can also be accommodated.
- Factory manufactured liners designed specifically for your site under quality controlled conditions.
- Liners manufactured using high strength Advantex glass reinforcement and proven polyester resins that together offer a liner with very high strength characteristics and excellent chemical resistance.
Our in house capabilities are extensive and this, combined with our innovative pipe and sewer rehabilitation techniques, enable us to tackle any aspect of drain or sewer maintenance, repair or renovation.
Applications
As well as achieving WRc APPROVED status for our materials and installation process, Waterflow plc has won several industry awards from the UKSTT for schemes that have used this process.
The Waterflow Group are installing UV liners for major UK water and sewerage companies, Railway companies, Highways Contractors, Airport Contractors and Major Infrastructure Project contractors. These contracts range from one-off individual projects to multi kilometre framework contracts. Our experience and scope of operations within the rail, highways and airport sectors has enabled us to utilise our drain lining expertise to innovate the way that infratsructure asset drainage repair and replacement is undertaken in this most difficult working environments.
The key features and benefits that make UV Cured liners the preferred method of drainage rehabiliation for infrastrucure include:
- High strength (designed for each job)
- Very fast installation
- No water wastage
- No working at heights
- Negligible styrene emissions
- Fits any pipe shape
- Individual liners installed up to 400meters long
- Low energy use
- Low noise
- Small site footprint
- Excellent chemical resistance
- Improved flow characteristics
- Minimal flow controls required during the installation process.
- Diameters from 150 to 1200 mm
